Condition
Very Good.
The diamonds are crisp and lively. Under magnification, one of the smaller flanking diamonds exhibits a nibble on a side facet — invisible to the naked eye. The settings are all secure. The 18ct gold has softened beautifully over its lifetime to a deep, buttery tone — period-correct patina.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear.
Diamond — Mohs hardness 10, the hardest natural material known. Exceptionally durable and well-suited to daily wear.
The diamonds in this ring are among the most resilient stones in the Archive. For an interim refresh at home, a bowl of lukewarm, mild soapy water and a very soft toothbrush will clear away the dust of daily life beautifully — work gently around the carved claw settings to ensure no residue collects beneath the stones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners; the vibrations can loosen stones in antique settings.
We recommend an annual professional check-up with a trusted jeweller to confirm the settings remain secure and the claws are in good order.
