Very Good.
The pierced gallery remains crisp — its scrolling detail still sharp to the eye. The gold has developed a warm, gentle patina with age, and all five pearls are present and secure, with surface wear commensurate with age.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear with Care
Pearl — Mohs 2.5–4.5 (nacre). One of the softer organic gems, pearls are porous and sensitive to acids, solvents, and abrasion. Handle with care accordingly.
Pearls are the sensitive souls of the gemstone world — porous, and happiest when treated gently. Never soak this ring or submerge it in water. After wearing, give the pearls a gentle wipe with a soft, barely-damp cloth to remove any perspiration, which can be acidic over time. Keep lotions, oils, and perfumes well away — apply these before putting the ring on, and allow them to dry fully first.
Store the ring separately, away from harder stones that could scratch the nacre. A soft pouch or a lined box of its own is ideal.
We recommend a professional check-up once a year to ensure the pearl settings and gallery remain secure, and to give the piece the expert attention it deserves.
