Under magnification, two small tooling marks are visible to the millegrain border, which appear to be original to the piece. Light millegrain flattening is present, consistent with honest age.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear.
Gemstone Hardness: Diamond, 10 Mohs. The hardest natural substance known, and exceptionally well suited to daily wear.
The Resilient — Diamonds. These stones love a gentle refresh. Spa day — a bowl of lukewarm, mild soapy water and a very soft toothbrush will clear away the dust of history. While modern jewels tolerate an ultrasonic cleaner, many vintage pieces do not. The vibrations can loosen old stones or rattle delicate settings — for this piece, we recommend sticking to the hand-wash.
As with all storied finds, we recommend a professional health check once a year. A trusted jeweller can ensure all twelve grain-set diamonds remain secure in their settings, keeping your jewel safe for the journey ahead.
