Condition
Very Good
Presents in original condition with no resizing or repairs noted. Two of the eight-cut diamonds exhibit minor era-appropriate 'flea bites' to their facet edges, detectable only under magnification and invisible to the naked eye — a natural characteristic of diamonds that have lived an active century. The millegrain lattice has mellowed very slightly with age, its fine beaded detail softening. All settings are secure.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear
Gemstone Hardness
Diamond — Mohs 10. The hardest natural substance on earth and highly resistant to scratching, though not immune to chipping under sharp impact.
The Diamonds — The Spa Day
Diamonds are among the most resilient stones in the Archive. A bowl of lukewarm, mild soapy water and a very soft toothbrush will clear away the dust of history. While modern jewels tolerate an ultrasonic cleaner, this piece does not — the vibrations can loosen old stones.
Filigree & millegrain
The millegrain lattice work on this ring is one of its most characterful details. Avoid heavy pressure when cleaning so you don't further soften these crisp, historic details — a light touch with a soft brush is all it needs.
Annual Check-up
We recommend a professional health check once a year. A trusted jeweller can confirm all settings remain secure and the millegrain detail is holding well — keeping your piece safe for the journey ahead.
