The Gilded Hour

Art Deco & Retro (1920 – 1950)
Storied Find #: 070-25
Crafted in platinum c.1930s–1950s, this dainty cocktail watch is Art Deco in style — its platinum case carrying the cool, geometric confidence of that aesthetic in every detail. The round case is encircled by a diamond-set bezel and flanked by elongated lozenge-form lugs, each pavé-set with eight-cut diamonds — the whole forming a silhouette that narrows above and below the dial. The silvered dial, now aged to a warm cream patina, carries dagger and baton indices with Arabic numerals at twelve and six. This is a composite piece: the movement, case, and bracelet originate from different periods, the platinum case bearing internal marks consistent with mid-20th century service history and the bracelet hallmarked Birmingham 1960–61 — components gathered across time by previous owners who clearly valued what they had. Each element is authentic to its own time; together they tell a longer story than any single-period piece could.
