Condition
Very Good
There is evidence of a historic resize, visible as a neat solder seam beneath one of the shoulders. Under 10x magnification, minor surface abrasions to the facet edges and light abrasions to the shank are visible, consistent with age. The Florentine finish to the shoulders remains well preserved, and all settings are secure.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear
Gemstone Hardness. Tourmaline sits at 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale — resilient for daily wear, though the facet edges can be susceptible to abrasion over time.
The Vivid Gems — Tourmalines. These stones are full of spirit but appreciate a gentler touch than a diamond. Use lukewarm — never hot — soapy water and a very soft toothbrush to refresh the stone. Tourmalines in particular dislike sudden heat, so keep them away from steam or boiling water.
We recommend a professional check-up once a year. A trusted jeweller can ensure the stone remains stable and secure, keeping your find safe for the journey ahead.
