Condition
Very Good
This ring presents in original condition. Under magnification, light surface wear is visible to the gold of the band, commensurate with age. The diamonds are eye-clean throughout. The millegrain border has mellowed very gently with the years — its fine beaded detail softening in the way that only decades of honest wear produces. All settings are secure.
Keeper's Guide to Care
Everyday Wear with Care
Diamond Hardness. Diamond is the hardest natural substance on earth, rating 10 on the Mohs scale — extraordinarily durable and resistant to scratching. The stones themselves are built to last; it is the setting and its fine details that deserve your care and attention.
The Resilient — Diamonds. These stones love a gentle refresh. A bowl of lukewarm, mild soapy water and a very soft toothbrush will clear away the dust of history. While modern jewels tolerate an ultrasonic cleaner, many vintage pieces do not — the vibrations can loosen old stones or disturb the close-set cluster setting.
Filigree & Millegrain. The fine millegrain border on this ring is one of its most characterful details. Avoid heavy pressure when cleaning so you do not further soften these handworked historic details.
We recommend a professional check-up once a year. A trusted jeweller can ensure the cluster settings remain secure, keeping your stones safe for the journey ahead.
